Christianity's Relationship With Roman Law
Paul uses the principles of secular Roman Law as a platform not only to defend himself in (Acts 22:25), but defends the faithful in (Acts 16:36, 37). Given this biblical history, why are Christian leaders so timid to likewise defend the faithful by appealing to secular American law to defend the faithful today? When you think about it Paul also appealed to secular Roman law when he appealed to Caesar 25:9-12. That defense launched whole story in Acts of Paul's journey to Rome which introduced the Gospel to the Roman government and to the rest of the world including ourselves. What a sensational way to fulfill Christ's command to be salt and light in the world around us (Matt 5:13-14) than to appeal to secular Roman Law. So what is all this about Bible studies on government being incompatible with or diluting the Great Commission?
